Graff Diamonds has unveiled the US$55 million ‘Hallucination’ – an exceptionally rare multi-colored diamond timepiece estimated to be the most valuable watch ever created.
A magnificent display of diamond design and craftsmanship, the Graff ‘Hallucination’ takes jewelry watchmaking to a new level, featuring an unprecedented kaleidoscope of over 110 carats of extremely rare colored diamonds. Even the hour indicators on the petite dial of this candy-colored watch are made of diamonds. The ‘Hallucination’ ladies timepiece was unveiled this week at the 2014 Basel World Fair where Graff Diamonds made its exciting debut. The concept for the Graff Hallucination came directly from Laurence Graff, Chairman of Graff Diamonds, with Graff’s highly skilled team of designers, gemologists and master craftsmen working intensively for thousands of hours in order to perfect the piece.
The Graff Hallucination is a sculptural masterpiece; a celebration of the miracle of colored diamonds. With a colourful layering of diamonds, it may not be the most efficient watch in the world, but it is certainly one of the most spectacular.
According to the Evening Standard, he said: ‘For many years I have thought about creating a truly remarkable watch that illustrates our all consuming passion for diamonds.’
Mr Graff, who started out as a jewellery apprentice, founded the company in 1960.
The watch can now be presented upon request at the GRAFF stores in Dubai Mall and Burj Al Arab.
